may 5th, 2018 marked one of the rowdiest house shows missoula has ever seen. summer was in the air, providing the perfect atmosphere for a the first schools out party of the year.
the show began with opener talus orion and his crew, golden buddha and drummer chris narro.
talus orion brought the groovy tunes. a new face to many, but an underground missoula gem for years. talus and his dj golden buddha have been making ripples with their groove-inducing twist to their experimental, electronic, r&b, and funk influence hip-hop sound. it's as cool as it sounds.
you can listen to talus orion on soundcloud.
after 45 minutes of groovy tunes, zak took the stage.
zak played a set with songs spanning multiple releases, including his brand new single, "trouble." being a photographer, i have to take this moment to plug the album cover, shot by me. if you haven't heard the song, be sure to check the jam out - streaming on all platforms. tap the image below to launch the song on spotify!
zak's set was full of bops and jams that had the whole backyard singing and dancing. every face had a smile on it. the whole show concluded by the time the police came to shut the noise down.
the music was good, but the people are what made the night so fun. here are some photos of the beautiful crowd:
