photography is really what initially sparked my sense for adventure in the outdoors. for the past several years, i've had the opportunity to do things i wouldn't have imagined doing - things like sleeping in my car in weird parts of the country more than my own bed, or camping in sweden with lows around 0 degrees fahrenheit just for a chance to see a bigger northern lights storm. it's stories like these that give my life so much more purpose and depth. moosejaw actually has a phrase for this. it's what they call "moosejaw madness." it's moments like those that i'm always on the lookout for.
that's one of the biggest reasons why i'm stoked to partner with moosejaw - they are a perfect fit with my philosophy on adventure, and they have the products that make it easy to shop for the gear you need.
it's finally backpacking season - so i was in the market for some gear. moosejaw is an online outdoor gear & apparel retailer, so they're the perfect one stop shop. some buddies and i went into the montana mountains to break in the gear.
a couple weeks later, i visited one of my favorite lookouts in montana. the weather was unpredictable all day. montana spring has a hard time deciding if it wants to be sunny, rain, or even snow.
so here we are, mid-june on top of a mountain waiting through crazy weather patterns to see sunset when a snowstorm blows through. it was hard to take any photos because the wind was so intense!
being up there during the fast changing weather was a serious highlight for me. the held pretty steady at over 30 mph the entire time, so the conditions kept changing as new weather patterns blew overhead.
while up there, i was also wearing one of their trucker hats!
all in all - i couldn't have been more stoked to be up there for those crazy conditions - but that's my moosejaw madness. here are some of the photos i got!
